Of Counsel Attorney
Brendan is a professor of law at Saint Louis University. For fifteen years, he has directed the law school’s Civil Litigation Clinic, and he previously served as associate dean. Brendan specializes in civil rights and consumer litigation. He has worked extensively on police misconduct cases and on abuse in jails and prisons. He has developed significant expertise in cases involving sexual misconduct by guards and contractors. Through individual and class action claims, Brendan has recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients.
Brendan began his career as a legal aid lawyer in Illinois and served for a year as a visiting faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis. He went to law school to serve those who are harmed by our system and to support activists working to improve it. He is most proud of the many students he taught who now fight in the trenches of our legal system.
Brendan lives in University City with his wife (a public school teacher) and two sons. He believes he is the second-best tennis player among St. Louis civil rights lawyers.
